I've found this the most addictive game on my iphone. And the longer I play it, the more I get a sense of its response. It's true that tilting has no real effect, but shaking very much controls the dice in a way. If the die is leaning and hasn't come to rest, continuing to shake just a bit can affect its final outcome. I've been able to get more 5 of a kinds by exerting this tiny bit of control.

The game IS great for short waits on lines, can be quite zen-like in its way.

The addictive quality comes from unlocking all the different dice, and achieving the gems. I've now got 12 of the 14 and ALL the dice.

I wish they would add MORE gems and goals, because once I've gotten all the 'unlocks' the game will hold less overall appeal for me. But I've gotten HOURS of entertainment from this one.

I didn't know much about poker scoring when I started playing this game, about the middle of July. I watched what the dealer did: what the dealer kept & threw away. I discovered that the dealer kept the highest pair & rolled the rest. I got hooked with the AI & played about 30 minutes everyday. The key is to move up to the next table as soon as you unlock it, because the payback is better. I've now unlocked every table, every gem, every set of dice, and my coin count is at 5,485,040.

Matt: I think the key is to go for three of a kind or higher, rather than straights, though I agree it can get frustrating. I'm at 2,800 after a few days. I wish there were a way to increase my bet, just like there is in real poker.

This is an addicting game, however. And reverie's correct about the die not reacting to tilt. For me, that was a good design decision, because it lets me play the game lying on my back with the device held vertically.

Matt - I'm at 45,460 coins looking to unlock the last table. I have all but 4 gems and the game rocks. You have to try to get 5-of-a-kind rolls which unlock new dice. The dice each have their own "luck." Try using different dice and then check the stat screen. Your luckiest dice will be listed. Good luck.

Steve s, asically the dices react to your shake very precisely, but not to your tilt. If you accept that the tables are always horizontal you will find that the movements are very realistic.

Arn, you could also mention the different dices in the game. They are all beautifully designed and each design has characteristic sounds and movements to them.

Lastly, I think this is the perfect representation of a dice game and I hope that the company will bring out more different dice games in the future. Ideally one that would allow me to create my own rules or one that just lets me roll the dice on the iPhone (with the number of dices and rounds specified by me) so I can play any kind of game with my friends without having actual dices, even board games.

This sounds kind of plain, but I think it's really useful when you're traveling because real dices tend to get lost. And to be honest, I've never seen such beautiful dices in real life.

Anyone notice how as you tilt the device, the shadows from the die lengthen and shorten according to the angle of the tilt?

arn, ok, so perhaps I was a little too critical right off the bat there. It is very impressive indeed and I hadn't noticed the movement of the shadows. Nice touch. I guess Aqua Forest has spoiled me... I look forward to more releases by MotionX.

btw, I love this site. kudos!
