Earlier this week we made a post covering two upcoming iPhone games, Balls of Steel and Bubble Space, from a newly formed development group.  We have received word that in addition to the aforementioned titles, this group is readying a 3D auto racing game known as Cardrenaline.

Cardrenaline, according to the developers, is a larger undertaking than either of the group's other in-progress titles.  And judging from the above mock-up screenshot of the working prototype, it looks like our favorite of the three.  Stay tuned...

Another accelerometer-driven racing game, I suppose. They really need to allow a choice between on-screen controls and accelerometers. I'll really need to see how precise you can be by wiggling and tilting the iPhone to drive between other vehicles. It just seems really hard to imagine. I don't even want to go into up-and down-shifting. I don't expect the iPhone to do everything 100% well, so I understand that it's not a dedicated game machine. Just put games on it that are simple and fun as a distraction.

Hate to say it, but I can't imagine controlling an accelerometer-based game while the screen is also tilting. Tilting a Wii remote is fine, but the TV screen is stationary, too.

I'll be getting an iPhone, but I'm REALLY picky about driving games, and I don't think that this'll work. Maybe if they tilted the view as well so that the horizon always appeared level, it might work...
